Pixar Animation Studios has unveiled the teaser trailer for upcoming animated feature Elio, what looks like an imaginative, quirky and adventurous intergalactic journey. Take a look at the trailer above and the poster below. 

The film follows Elio, an 11-year-old who’s fascinated by aliens and the mysteries of the universe. His obsession takes an out-of-this-world turn when he’s suddenly transported to the Communiverse, an intergalactic hub teeming with intelligent life. Mistaken as Earth’s leader, Elio finds himself navigating unexpected challenges, forming unusual alliances, and tackling an interstellar crisis that could jeopardise everything.

The voice cast includes Yonas Kibreab (Sweet Tooth) as Elio, with Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO.

The film is directed by a team of Pixar veterans: Adrian Molina (Coco), Madeline Sharafian (Burrow), and Domee Shi (Turning Red). Molina, who co-directed and co-wrote Pixar hit Coco, also penned the screenplay.

Elio is slated to open in US cinemas on 13 June, with an Australian release following on 19 June 2025.
