Netflix has dropped the trailer for Ellen DeGeneres’ return to the stage as a stand-up comic.
Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable is heading to the streaming giant, marking the now popular daytime host’s first stand-up special in 15 years. As the the title refers to, the topics covered include whether or not her stand-up can connect with audiences anymore since she’s become a wealthy TV personality. DeGeneres also talks about how her career was affected by her “coming out” as gay.
“I lost my sitcom when I came out and it took three years for me to get back on television,” DeGeneres says on stage. “There was this one station manager that said, ‘No one’s going to watch a lesbian during the day.’ I said, ‘Well, they weren’t watching me at night. What time of day is good for a lesbian?'”
Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable will be hitting Netflix on December 18.
