Eric Bana & Sam Neill to Star in Mystery Netflix Series ‘Untamed’

Eric Bana and Sam Neill embark on an enthralling journey through America’s national parks in the forthcoming Netflix limited series Untamed.

From creators Mark L. Smith (American Primeval, The Revenant) and Elle Smith (The Marsh King’s Daughter), this character-driven mystery thriller centres on Kyle Turner (Bana), a special agent for the National Parks Service. Turner’s role is to uphold human law within the expansive wilderness. When a gruesome death demands investigation, Turner finds himself entangled in the park’s dark secrets and haunted by shadows of his own past.

Joining Bana is Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Apples Never Fall), portraying Paul Souter, the seasoned chief park ranger of Yosemite. Souter, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and Turner’s close confidant – a man adept at navigating both the criminal activities within the park and the surrounding bureaucratic intricacies.

Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land, The Staircase) also stars as Jill Bodwin, Turner’s ex-wife. Formerly a teacher and park counsellor, Jill has since remarried. Despite their divorce, Jill and Turner share an enduring bond, sustained by shared experiences from their past.

Bana (Dirty John, Troy) not only stars in the six-episode drama but also serves as an executive producer. The Smith duo, Mark and Elle, take on dual roles as executive producers and writers. Untamed is also executive produced by John Wells for John Wells Productions (Maid, Shameless), Escape Artists Entertainment (The Equalizer 3, Being the Ricardos), Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder Productions (Chief of Station, You Don’t Know Jack), and Cliff Roberts (The Midnight Sky, Emancipation). The series is a collaborative effort with Warner Bros. Television Studios (YOU, Sweet Tooth).

No release date for Untamed has yet been announced.
