Sylvester Stallone & Dave Bautista in ‘Escape Plan 3: The Extractors’ Red Band Trailer

Probably one for the absolute most die-hard of Sylvester Stallone fans here.

A red band trailer has arrived for Escape Plan: The Extractors, the threequel in the franchise that kicked off in okay fashion with Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2013 and then took a straight nosedive in the abysmal sequel Escape Plan 2: Hades, which brought in Guardians of the Galaxy wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista.

Bautista stays on for round three, which finds Stallone’s security expert having to save his girlfriend (Jaime King), who’s been captured and locked up in a Latvian prison. As it turns out, the baddie (played by Devon Sawa, remember him?!) has a connection to our hero’s past.

It remains to be seen if this is above the quality of the second film, although it wouldn’t take much at all for it to garner that praise. This one’s directed and co-written by Stallone’s buddy John Herzfeld, whose past credits include Travola-Newton-John disaster Two of a Kind, 2 Days in the Valley and 15 Minutes.

Escape Plan: The Extractors, also starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Max Zhang, Harry Shum Jr. and Daniel Bernhardt, hits US 4K, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on July 2.

Official synopsis for Escape Plan: The Extractors:

Screen legend Sylvester Stallone kicks this explosive action tale into high gear. After security expert Ray Breslin (Stallone) is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison, Breslin’s girlfriend (Jaime King) is also captured. Now he and his team, which includes Dave Bautista and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, must pull off a deadly rescue mission to confront their sadistic foe and save the hostages before time runs out.
