Yes, it’s somehow taken Ferrell this long to make a film surrounding that European song competition, which, let’s admit, is oh-so ripe for comedy. Ferrell and McAdams play aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit, underdogs who find themselves on the world stage when they’re given the chance to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition.
Shanghai Knights and Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkins directs this one, working from a script that Ferrell penned with Saturday Night Live scribe Andrew Steele. Ferrell has tackled this Zoolander-esque formula quite a lot at this point, but this could be an amusing time nevertheless – and having both Pierce Brosnan and Dan Stevens on board certainly adds appeal.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga will be hitting Netflix on June 26. Oh, and in case you hadn’t seen the first music video released from this Icelandic duo, watch the vid for their hit single “Volcano Man” right HERE.
