Eva Longoria is set to play a part in season two of Fox’s comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Deadline is reporting that the Desperate Housewives actress has been hired for three episodes in the upcoming season, playing an attorney name Sophia. Longoria’s Sophia catches the eye of Andy Samberg’s Detective Jake Peralta when she goes up against him in court.
Set in the NYPD’s 99th Precinct in Brooklyn, the series follows the ups and downs of the officers in the precinct, particularly focusing on the love-hate relationship between Peralta, an immature but talented detective, and his commanding officer, the serious and stern Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher). The second season will pick up with Braugher’s Holt finding himself butting heads with his longtime nemesis, Deputy Chief Madeline Wuntch (guest star Kyra Sedgwick), as the NYPD undergoes administration changes.
Eva Longoria will next be seen starring with Ed Harris and Michael Peña in Frontera, which receives a limited U.S. release on September 5, and with Sean Bean and Kate Walsh in a drama titled Any Day.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s second season begins on September 28.
