It’s trailer day! Two trailers have been released for Everest, the upcoming true-story adventure-drama showing off one hell of a cast.
Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sam Worthington, Robin Wright, Emily Watson, and Keira Knightley populate this film based on the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband, 2 Guns) directs from a screenplay co-written by William Nicholson (Gladiator) and Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog MIllionaire).
The two trailers paint us a picture of what’s bound to be one dramatic film, one that looks to benefit from a strong focus on character and the sprinkling of grand special effects. On the big screen, this could be a breathtaking outing.
Everest, with a score by Oscar-winning composer Dario Marianelli (V for Vendetta, Atonement), hits Australia on September 17 and the U.S. on September 18.
