The first trailer has dropped for Every Thing Will Be Fine, a drama starring James Franco, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Rachel McAdams, Marie-Josée Croze and Peter Stormare.
The film tells the story of a writer (Franco) who is involved in a car accident involving a young child. As the trailer shows, it’s the ramifications of this accident that affect both him and those around him for the next few years.
Early reviews aren’t too positive for this one, with many describing it as being simply too leisurely paced and understated for its own good. Either way, we’re certainly going to be checking it out ourselves, especially since director Wim Wenders’ past work, which includes Wings of Desire, Buena Vista Social Club, Pina, and The Salt of the Earth, are strong outings in their own right.
Every Thing Will Be Fine will have its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
Synopsis for Every Thing Will Be Fine:
EVERY THING WILL BE FINE, based on an original script by the Norwegian Bjørn Olaf Johannessen, tells the story of Tomas (James Franco), a writer who loses control of his life after a car accident. Even though he is not directly at fault, his relationship with his girlfriend breaks down because of this event and his life and work suddenly set off in a completely new direction. The film follows Tomas over a period of 12 years and tells an intimate story of guilt and the search for forgiveness.
