The MCU expands with animation and a trip through Wakandan history. Marvel has released the official trailer for Eyes of Wakanda, a four-part limited series debuting on Disney+ on August 1. Take a look above and learn more below.
Helmed by Black Panther storyboard artist-turned-director Todd Harris, the show puts the spotlight on the Hatut Zeraze, Wakanda’s secretive warrior faction tasked with retrieving vibranium artefacts from around the world.
More on Screen Realm:
If you thought the Dora Milaje were intense, wait until you meet these warriors. Set across different time periods, the series follows operatives on dangerous global missions—battling enemies who’ve dared to steal from Wakanda. As the trailer teases, some of these enemies aren’t just from this world… or even this dimension.
First Look at a New Iron Fist
Among the biggest trailer surprises? The first official MCU appearance of Iron Fist—though it’s not Danny Rand. A new, female incarnation of the iconic character makes a brief but eye-catching appearance toward the end of the trailer. She’s voiced by Jona Xiao, and while Marvel hasn’t confirmed the specifics of her version, it’s clear this isn’t a simple Easter egg. Could Eyes of Wakanda be teasing further mystical crossovers?
Also glimpsed in the trailer are what appear to be multiple Black Panthers across time, opening the door for more lineage lore and connections to the wider Wakandan legacy.
Who’s Behind the Series?
Todd Harris directs and executive produces Eyes of Wakanda, stepping up following Art Department credits on the likes of Black Panther, Wakanda Forever, and Sinners. The series is executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt. It’s also a Proximity Media production, part of Coogler’s ongoing development deal with Marvel.
The series features the voices of Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Lynn Whitfield, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Steve Toussaint, Anika Noni Rose, and more.
