Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore has Donald Trump in his sights in his latest doco, Fahrenheit 11/9.
“How the f**k did we get here?” Moore asks in the trailer, which serves up footage of a number of troubling recent US events. It’s a little hard to grasp the overall narrative focus here, apart from the fact that, yes, things in the US haven’t been great lately. We get snippets of the mayhem in Charlottesville, high school shooting survivors, the Flint water crisis, and of course the electing of a snarky reality show star as what Moore calls “the last President of the United States.”
“How the f**k did we get here, and how the f**k do we get out?” reads the synopsis below. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of answers Moore offers up.
Fahrenheit 11/9, a title that refers to the date the Associated Press called the election for Trump and also serves as a nod to the title of Moore’s 2004 doco Fahrenheit 9/11, will have its premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 11/9” is a provocative and comedic look at the times in which we live. It will explore the two most important questions of the Trump Era: How the f**k did we get here, and how the f**k do we get out? It’s the film to see before it’s too late.
