Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon star in the upcoming HBO movie Fahrenheit 451, based on the classic novel by Ray Bradbury.
The full-length trailer has arrived for the film, which is set in a future where history is rewritten by firemen whose job it is to burn books. Jordan plays a young fireman who begins to struggle with his duty, which finds him going up against his mentor, played by Shannon.
This has the potential to be a pretty strong picture; respected source material, a solid director (Ramin Bahrani, who directed Shannon in 99 Homes), and two fantastic leads.
“I have always loved Ray Bradbury’s prophetic novel Fahrenheit 451,” Bahrani said about what drew him to the project. “Two years ago, as I looked at the world around me, it seemed like the ideal time to do a modern interpretation.”
Fahrenheit 451, which also stars Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Mummy), will be hitting HBO on May 19.
