Marvel has unveiled the final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering more of the MCU’s long-awaited take on the iconic team. It’s shaping up to be a cosmic ride powered by family bonds and impending doom. Take a look above and read on below.
The MCU’s First Family Faces a Colossal Threat
Set in a retro-futuristic 1960s-inspired world, the film introduces Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as the Fantastic Four—scientists, explorers, and a surrogate family thrown into a universe-threatening crisis.

The trailer leans into sci-fi spectacle and emotional stakes, showing glimpses of the team’s dynamic as they prepare to face off against a being of unimaginable scale: Galactus. We get more of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, who heralds the arrival of the world-devouring force played by Ralph Ineson. Also glimpsed is young Franklin Richards, Reed and Sue’s son, who looks to play a noticeable part in the story.
Pascal on Fan Reactions, Curtis on Galactus’ Scale
Pedro Pascal recently spoke to Vanity Fair about the mixed fan reaction to his casting. “I’m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I’ve ever done. ‘He’s too old. He’s not right. He needs to shave.’” Still, Pascal says he’s beginning to feel some positive momentum: “I’m getting an inkling of excitement because it seems to reflect what our common goal was, and what we want to share, which is all of our f***ing hearts on a platter within this genre. You just never know if people are going to be disgusted by your heart or not.”
Producer Grant Curtis, meanwhile, addressed the film’s massive antagonist in an interview with Collider. “The most epic of the most epic that you can imagine,” Curtis said. “Because that’s the global stakes we’re dealing with, the universal stakes we’re dealing with. That’s Galactus. When Galactus’s gaze comes across your planet, you’re not in a good spot. I think that’s as big of a scope and scale you could ever ask a villain to bring with him or her. And that is what Galactus brings… One of the beautiful things about working with Kevin Feige and with Matt Shakman, they are totally in on sci-fi. I know that’s not a shock, but just to see them talk about all things sci-fi and really embracing that look, and Galactus and one of the original bad guys of the Marvel Universe.”
A Team Worth Rooting For?
Also starring Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles, the film is directed by WandaVision’s Matt Shakman and scored by Michael Giacchino. While past big-screen iterations of Marvel’s first family have been… shall we say, less than stellar, this reboot is looking to change course—with a final trailer that suggests Marvel is finally ready to deliver the story fans have been waiting for. Hopefully.
