The first trailer has been released for Far from the Madding Crowd, an upcoming period film from the director of the brilliant 2012 Mads Mikkelsen-starring drama The Hunt.
Directed by Thomas Vinterberg and based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, Far from the Madding Crowd tells the story of a beautiful and headstrong woman (Carey Mulligan) who attracts three men, played by Michael Sheen, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Tom Sturridge.
As far as we know, this is the fourth film adaptation of Hardy’s novel. A 1967 adaptation saw Julie Christie star alongside Alan Bates, Terence Stamp, and Peter Finch.
The cast here is impressive and director Vinterberg certainly proved himself with his last outing, so we’re looking forward to checking this one out. Charlotte Bruus Christensen’s gorgeous cinematography certainly can’t hurt either.
