Warner Bros. Pictures have unveiled a brand new featurette for 300: Rise of an Empire. This featurette focuses on the sequel’s villains, giving us a better a look at Eva Green’s malicious Artemisia. Also of interest, we get to see a bit more of how Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), the villain from the first film, became such a powerful God-king in the first place. Admittedly, we weren’t terribly excited at the news that 300 was getting a sequel, but every bit of marketing continues to pique our interest. Hopefully, this will be a blood-soaked action-packed ride, in the vein of the first film.
Also starring Sullivan Stapleton, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, Igal Nao, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell, and Andrew Tiernan.
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.
“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
