The first trailer has been released for Felony, an upcoming Australian thriller starring Joel Edgerton. Showcasing a screenplay by Edgerton himself, Felony tells the story of a cop who accidentally hits a young boy with his car. He decides to cover it up, along with the support of Tom Wilkinson’s Detective Carl Summer. Unfortunately for them, things begin to get pretty damn complicated when cop Jim Melic (Jai Courtney) decides to investigate further. This looks great, helping solidify Edgerton’s talents as a writer. In case anyone didn’t know, he co-wrote the great Australian thriller The Square (directed by his brother Nash Edgerton) and even has a ‘story’ credit on David Michod’s recently released thriller The Rover. We’re liking the layers that Edgerton appears to mine in this deceptively simple tale, and the great cast certainly doesn’t hurt either.
Felony stars Joel Edgerton, Jai Courtney, Tom Wilkinson, Melissa George and Sarah Roberts.
