Filming is set to begin tomorrow on Kidnap, a thriller starring Halle Berry.
Deadline is reporting that Well Go USA and Rumble Entertainment have come on board as producers and financiers, backing the new film from director Luis Prieto (director of the 2012 Pusher remake).
Kidnap will see Berry star as “a mother who will stop at nothing to save her abducted son.” Maybe she has a very particular set of skills…
The screenplay comes from Knate Gwaltney, who’s best known for his work as a field producer on Nitro Circus and as an associate producer on Jackass 3D.
Relativity Media picked up the film in Toronto and will be distributing it throughout the US, while Well Go USA has the right to distribute it in China.
Berry also has Tulia on the horizon, a crime-drama from director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood, Shaft, 2 Fast 2 Furious).
