Could be another one to keep the kids busy for a couple of hours these school holidays.
Netflix has released the trailer for upcoming feature Finding Ohana, a family adventure that tells of what unfolds for two Brooklyn-raised siblings (played by Kea Peahu and Alex Aiono) during a summer they spend in rural O‘ahu, Hawaii. A journal pointing to long-lost treasure sets them on an epic adventure with new friends, and leads them to reconnect with their Hawaiian heritage.
This is the feature directorial debut for Jude Weng, who has primarily directed television with a lengthy list of credits that includes Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Good Place, and Young Sheldon. The script comes from Christina Strain, who was a writer on Syfy’s The Magicians and is on the writing team for upcoming Netflix fantasy series Shadow and Bone, an adaptation of the books by Leigh Bardugo.
Finding Ohana, also starring Lindsay Watson, Owen Vaccaro, Kelly Hu, Branscombe Richmond, Ke Huy Quan, and Chris Parnell, among others, will be streaming on Netflix from January 29th.
