‘Force of Nature’ Trailer: Mel Gibson Takes on Baddies During a Hurricane

While that above headline is by no means clickbait, it may suggest more excitement than what’s on offer below.

Check out the trailer that’s been released for Force of Nature, an upcoming action-thriller starring Mel Gibson, Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth. The film has Hirsch playing a cop who finds himself having to protect the remaining residents of a building in the midst of a hurricane evacuation – all while violent criminals attempt to pull off a heist in the building. Gibson is a retired detective who’s decided he won’t be evacuating, which is bad news for baddies.

Gibson has proven time and time again that he can ace the dishevelled badass, and apart from the appeal of having him doing his thing, it’s a little hard to find more winning elements in the trailer. It’s decidedly direct-to-video stuff, but you never know – there could be some fun here.

Force of Nature, directed by Michael Polish (Bosworth’s husband, known for The Astronaut Farmer, Big Sur, Hot Bot), hits U.S. Digital, On Demand, Blu-ray and DVD on June 30.
