‘Fosse/Verdon’ Trailer: Michelle Williams & Sam Rockwell Lead Upcoming Mini-Series

Take a look at the trailer released for Fosse/Verdon, an FX limited series starring Oscar nominee Michelle Williams and Oscar winner Sam Rockwell.

The eight-episode series spans five decades and looks at the romantic and creative partnership between influential choreographer/director, Bob Fosse (Rockwell), and Gwen Verdon (Williams), one of the greatest Broadway dancers of all time. Fosse directed a number of films, including multiple Oscar-winner Cabaret, starring Liza Minnelli. Kelli Barrett plays Minnelli in the series.



The premiere episode was written by Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex, Wayward Pines) and directed by Thomas Kail (2 Broke Girls, Grease Live!). Levenson and Kail are executive producers alongside Sam Rockwell, Michelle Williams, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Joel Fields, and George Stelzner.

The series also stars Norbert Leo Butz as playwright and screenwriter Paddy Chayefsky; Aya Cash as former modern dancer turned homemaker Joan Simon; Nate Corddry as Joan’s husband and playwright Neil Simon; and Evan Handler as theater producer and director Hal Prince.

Fosse/Verdon will be hitting FX on April 9.

Synopsis for Fosse/Verdon:

Spanning five decades, Fosse/Verdon explores the singular romantic and creative partnership between Bob Fosse (Sam Rockwell) and Gwen Verdon (Michelle Williams). He is a visionary filmmaker and one of the theater’s most influential choreographers and directors. She is the greatest Broadway dancer of all time. Only Bob can create the groundbreaking musicals that allow Gwen to showcase her greatness. Only Gwen can realize the unique vision in Bob’s head. Together, they will change the face of American entertainment – at a perilous cost.
