Netflix has unveiled the final trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein—a last, meaty look that lands just days before the film’s streaming release and finally offers the clearest glimpse yet of Jacob Elordi’s The Creature. Watch the trailer above and read on for the info below.

“I never considered what would come after creation,” says Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) in the trailer—a line that frames what follows as both confession and omen. The new preview doubles down on the brutality and heartbreak that unmake both the creator and his creation. “This was the way of the world,” The Creature (Jacob Elordi) says. “It would hunt you and kill you just for being who you are.”

Del Toro’s obsession, distilled
Del Toro’s fingerprints are all over this one: tenderness tangled with terror, the uneasy bond between maker and made, and the ache of fathers and “sons.” As he put it on stage at Tudum 2025: “Exploring the relationship between humanity and monsters, creator and creation, father and son has consumed my stories again and again,” he said. “I wanted to make this film before even I had a camera, and I’ve been actively pursuing it now for 25 years.”
He added: “This has been, for me, the culmination of a journey that has occupied most of my life. I first read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein as a kid and saw [star of the 1931 adaptation] Boris Karloff in, what became for me, an almost religious state. Monsters have become my personal belief system.”

Release date
Frankenstein is in select cinemas in some territories now and will be unleashed on Netflix on November 7.
