Disney has unveiled the official trailer for Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to the 2003 body-swapping hit Freaky Friday. Yep, it’s somehow been 22 years since that film came out. The sequel reunites Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, reprising their roles as mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. Take a look above and learn more below.
They’re older, wiser… but maybe not entirely prepared for what’s coming. Now, Anna has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, and if the trailer’s anything to go by, history is about to repeat itself—literally. After all, when lightning strikes once in a Disney film, it’s rarely a one-off.

The sequel is directed by Nisha Ganatra, whose feature credits include Late Night and The High Note. Mark Waters directed the first film.
The cast includes a mix of returning and new faces. Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky, Lucille Soong, and Rosalind Chao are all back from the first film. Newcomers include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Vanessa Bayer.
The film is produced by Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn, with Curtis also onboard as a producer. Executive producers include Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lohan herself.
Freakier Friday arrives in Australian cinemas on August 7th and hits U.S. cinemas on August 8th.
