Freeheld Clip: Ellen Page Picks Up Julianne Moore

The first clip has been released for Freeheld, the upcoming true-story drama starring Ellen Page and Julianne Moore.

Freeheld tells the story of Laurel Hester (Moore), a New Jersey police detective who fought to leave her pension to her partner, Stacie (Page), after being diagnosed with cancer.

The clip below sees Stacie and Laurel talking before that all-important question is asked: “Can I have your number?”

We’re ready to have our tissues handy for this one. It’s a powerful true story that absolutely deserves to be told, and having Page and Moore on board simply adds to the appeal. In case you still haven’t, watch the film’s first official trailer HERE.

Peter Sollett (Raising Victor Vargas, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) directs from a screenplay by Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia, The Painted Veil).

Freeheld, also starring Michael Shannon and Steve Carell, will be hitting the U.S. on October 2.
