Netflix has unveiled the trailer for French Lover, a romantic comedy led by Lupin star Omar Sy and Sara Giraudeau (The Bureau). Watch the trailer above and read on for the key details.
Omar Sy plays Abel Camara, a famous actor in an existential wobble. A chance encounter with Marion (Giraudeau), a down-on-her-luck Parisian waitress juggling the everyday, sets off an unlikely relationship that’s tested by the spotlight.

This is the feature directorial debut of Nina Rives, a longtime script supervisor who also served as second-unit director on three episodes of Netflix’s Lupin (which stars Sy). The screenplay comes from Hugo Gélin, Noémie Saglio and Rives, based on a format created by Shirli Mushoyef. Produced by Hugo Gélin; companies on board include ZAZI Films, Federation Studio France and Korokoro Productions, with participation from TF1.
Could be a nice crowdpleaser here. We’ll find out when French Lover, also starring Pascale Arbillot, Alban Ivanov, Cindy Bruna and Agnès Hurstel, begins streaming on Netflix worldwide from September 26.
