The next episode of Game of Thrones is promising to be a doozy.
The penultimate chapter in the seventh season of the popular series will find Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) leading a somewhat unexpected team on a mission to capture a White Walker. As the trailer released earlier this week showed, it’s looking like something of a suicide mission, with Jorah, The Hound, Tormund, Gendry and others seen taking on the undead and running for their dear lives.
HBO has unveiled a number of enticing images in the lead-up to episode 6, giving us a look at some of our favourite characters in an episode that could find a few killed off. It will be pretty surprising if writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss don’t use this expedition as a chance to say goodbye to at least one or two characters now that we’re on the home stretch.
Next episode won’t just following Snow and his team. The tension will be growing between Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams), fueled by the conniving Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), and it looks like we’ll have at least one moment with Daenerys and her majestic dragons.
Season 7’s sixth episode will run for a meaty 71 minutes, which will make it the longest episode thus far, at least until the season finale the week after: 81 minutes!
