“The Dead are already here.”
So says Daeneyrs (Emilia Clarke) in this short but oh-so enticing trailer HBO has released for Game of Thrones season 8, episode 3. The 30-second promo teases an epic showdown as the White Walkers arrive at Winterfell – and we can only hope that our favourites make it through relatively unscathed.
Episode 2 could easily have been looked as a build-up episode, as various characters prepared for what many assume will be their last stand. As “oh, c’mon!” as that cliffhanger was, it was a necessary chapter, giving us an important moment of character-driven, quiet progression before all the mayhem begins. Jon (Kit Harington) also needed to drop that bombshell to Daynerys. Yeh, hanky-panky time may be over.
Episode 3 will mark a longer ep, too, coming in at 1 hour and 22 minutes. For the record, ep 4 will go for 1 hour and 18 minutes, episode 5 is 1 hour and 20 minutes, and the series culminates in a 1 hour and 20-minute finale.
By the way, you can check out a 20-minute behind-the-scenes look at episode 2 right HERE.
