Bella Thorne grabs a hatchet and takes after Mickey Rourke in the upcoming thriller Girl.
The official trailer has arrived for the film, which has Thorne playing a young woman who returns to her hometown to take revenge on her abusive dad. And wouldn’t you know it? Someone else has already taken care of him – complete with torture. She soon finds herself targeted by the town’s sinister sheriff (played by Mickey Rourke) and his wicked brother (played by the film’s director and writer, Chad Faust) and begins to uncover a family legacy more disturbing than anything she ever could have imagined.
This marks the first film as director and second as writer for Faust, who co-wrote 2018 indie Better Start Running and who you may have seen in sci-fi series The 4400.
It’s familiar-looking stuff, but the trailer is decent, suggesting a moody and gritty little pic with some potentially tense showdowns. We’ll find out when Girl takes a stab at limited US theaters and on demand on November 24th.
