Sony Pictures Animation has unveiled the first trailer for GOAT, a CG-animated sports comedy that throws one undersized goat into the world’s wildest contact sport.
Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin (he plays Lucas in the hit Netflix series) voices Will, a scrappy underdog with dreams of roarball glory—while NBA legend Stephen Curry pulls double duty as voice actor and producer.

Roarball gets loud
Roarball isn’t your standard hoops match—it’s a high-contact, co-ed, chaos-driven sport where courts shift between lava, ice, and jungle mid-game. And it’s usually ruled by predators. So when Will is drafted to the pro-level Vineland Thorns, the rest of the team isn’t exactly thrilled about their new goat-sized teammate. Will’s out to prove what he lacks in size, he makes up for in grit—and maybe change the game while he’s at it.
A Curry-crafted world
Curry’s influence runs throughout. As a producer, he helped shape the film’s sport and aesthetic, with real-world teammate Andre Iguodala consulting on gameplay. There’s even a nod to Curry’s Under Armour brand in the film’s sleek, streetwear-inspired look—part of a bold design led by character designer Eran Alboher and costume designer Dominique Dawson.
The team behind the animals
Directed by Bob’s Burgers alum Tyree Dillihay and co-directed by Adam Rosette (The Wild Robot, The Bad Guys), GOAT also features the voices of Gabrielle Union, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Patton Oswalt, Jennifer Hudson, and more.
Release date
GOAT will be shooting into Australian cinemas on February 12 and U.S. cinemas on February 13, 2026.
