To celebrate the release of Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, in Australian cinemas from November 3, we’re giving away ten doubles passes!

Boasting a cast that includes Andrew Garfield, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving and Vince Vaughn, Hacksaw Ridge tells the incredible true story of WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa without carrying a weapon or firing a single bullet. He became the first Conscientious Objector in American history to be awarded the Medal of Honor.

It’s a strong, cinematic effort from Gibson, who also directed Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto. As we say in our review, Hacksaw Ridge is “an impassioned, confidently crafted picture,” and it’s one you should save the date for.

Hacksaw Ridge hits Australian cinemas on November 3.

HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield) who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic he single-handedly rescued the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was injured by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, which is the highest military honour in the US, awarded for personal acts of valour above and beyond the call of duty.
