Universal has released a quick teaser to hype up next year’s release of horror film Halloween Kills, the follow-up to the 2018 Halloween franchise retcon that served as a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 original.
Jamie Lee Curtis is back as Laurie Strode, who has to once again face the seemingly unkillable masked killer that is Michael Myers. Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are also back in the fight as her daughter and granddaughter, respectively, along with a cast that includes Anthony Michael Hall, Kyle Richards, Robert Longstreet, Nancy Stephens, and Charles Cyphers.
Nick Castle, who played Michael Myers (aka The Shape) in Carpenter’s original film and the 2018 sequel, is back behind the mask. Fun fact: This Nick Castle is the same Nick Castle who directed The Last Starfighter, Dennis the Menace and Major Payne.
Director David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Stronger) stays at the helm after directing the 2018 film, which topped $US255 million worldwide from a budget of just $US10 million. After Halloween Kills, he plans to wrap up his trilogy with Halloween Ends, a film that was initially to be shot back to back with this one until the pandemic put a halt to that schedule. Still, Halloween Ends is still being lined up and is currently set for US release on October 14th, 2022.
Halloween Kills will be hitting US cinemas on October 15th, 2021.
