The cast of the upcoming Han Solo movie continues to grow.
Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke has been cast in the upcoming Star Wars anthology movie, which will be focusing on a young Han Solo and Chewbacca.
The official Star Wars website officially confirmed that the actress would be joining actors Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, who have been cast as Han Solo and Lando Calrissian respectively. There’s no word as yet on what character Clarke will be playing.
This marks yet another big project for Clarke, who broke out as Daenerys Targaryen on the hugely successful HBO series Game of Thrones. Clarke played Sarah Conner in last year’s Terminator Genisys and earlier this year starred alongside Sam Claflin in the tearjerker Me Before You.
21/22 Jump Street and The Lego Movie helmers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing the untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. Lawrence co-wrote The Empire Strike Back, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens; Jon is his son, whose writing credits include TV series Freaks and Geeks and Dawson’s Creek.
The Han Solo movie is scheduled to open in the US on May 25, 2018.
