Lionsgate has released a trailer for Heist, an action-thriller starring Robert De Niro, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Morris Chestnut, Dave Bautista and Gina Carano.
The headline above tells it all. Morgan plays a guy who asks De Niro’s casino-owning gangster to help him out with some cash, which refuses he to do, so he decides to rob him with the help of Bautista’s Cox. The heist doesn’t go according to plan, leading to Morgan hijacking a bus with Carano’s Officer Bajos and De Niro’s right hand man (Chestnut) in tow.
Heist is set for release in November, and a look at the trailer below may explain a bit about why you probably haven’t heard much about this one until now. It’s pretty simple stuff, with De Niro pulling in an easy paycheck in this love child of Ocean’s Eleven and Speed. Still, there could be some fun to be found somewhere here.
Heist, also starring Kate Bosworth, will begin a limited theatrical run in the U.S. on November 13, the same day it hits on demand.
Synopsis for Heist:
When their attempt to rob a casino owned by the feared gangster Pope (Robert De Niro) goes awry and a shootout ensues, Vaughn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Cox (Dave Bautista) are forced to flee on foot and hijack city Bus 657 and take the passengers hostage. Now, in a high speed chase, Vaughn will not only have to outwit the police, led by Officer Bajos (Gina Carano) who are in hot pursuit, but he will have to contend with Pope’s maniacal right hand man, Dog (Morris Chestnut), in order to make it through the day alive. But we quickly learn that things are not what they seem, and Vaughn has more than one card up his sleeve.
