Honest Trailer for ‘Game of Thrones’ Ending is Brutally Honest

HBO

Sigh. Game of Thrones, one of the best shows to ever end so poorly.

“Be grateful for a show that’s given us the last communal experience in our divided world: crapping on the final seasons of Game of Thrones, together.” So says Epic Voice Over Guy in the latest Honest Trailer, this one covering the final three seasons of the television phenomenon that was among pop culture’s rulers for years.

The show arguably wasn’t the same when showrunners/writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss reached the end of George R.R. Martin’s published works. They proceeded to go “off an outline,” says the amusing Honest Trailer below, “and boy does it feel that way.”

The series went from carefully establishing characters and their motivations, to rushing through plot turns and hitting conclusions that barely felt coherent – considering what had come before. But there were some admittedly epic visuals and action sequences; the war in season six’s Battle of the Bastards will always remain a standout moment in television.

So get ready to remember some of the highs and a lot of the very lows of Game of Thrones‘ final three seasons. And, uh, spoilers ahead, I guess:
