‘Horse Girl’ Trailer: Alison Brie May or May Not Be Going Crazy in a Strange Netflix Movie

Now this one looks interesting.

Take a look at the trailer that Netflix has released for upcoming movie Horse Girl, with GLOW star Alison Brie playing a socially awkward woman who finds her increasingly lucid dreams trickling into her waking life. Is there something supernatural or extra terrestrial at play… or is she simply losing her mind?

We’re digging the strangeness hinted at here. Brie co-wrote this one with the film’s director, Jeff Baena, whose credits include Life After Beth and The Little Hours. Baena also co-wrote I Heart Huckabees (a personal fave), so yeah, he knows weirdness well. Hope this one’s good!

Horse Girl, also starring Molly Shannon, Paul Reiser, Jay Duplass, Robin Tunney, Debby Ryan, and Toby Hussm, will have its premiere at Sundance on January 27 before hitting Netflix on February 7.

Official synopsis for Horse Girl:

Sarah (Alison Brie), a socially isolated arts and crafts store employee, finds herself more content in the company of horses and supernatural crime shows than people. But when a series of strangely surreal dreams upend the simplicity of her waking life, Sarah struggles to distinguish her visions from reality. Directed by Jeff Baena, Horse Girl is a darkly humorous psychological thriller about a woman’s search for the truth, however abstract it may be.
