Francis Underwood is no more; there’s a new President running the country. House of Cards season 6 will see the series returning with Robin Wright in the lead, as Claire Underwood takes on the Presidency.
“Happy Independence Day… to me,” the POTUS says in an ominous little teaser shared on Twitter, with the caption “A message from the President of the United States” confirming Claire’s new status. It’s going to be interesting to see find out just what’s happened to Francis.
Kevin Spacey was infamously kicked off the hit Netflix series, and a ton of other projects he was working on (including a movie he’d already finished), after an accusation of sexual assault led to a number of others coming forward.
House of Cards season 6, which will bring in Oscar nominated actors Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear and see the return of Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver, will be hitting Netflix later this year.
