Take a look at the trailer for Netflix‘s How it Ends, an upcoming end-of-the-world thriller starring Theo James and Forest Whitaker.
It’s a relatively straightforward premise: Will (James) is forced to join his estranged father-in-law (Whitaker) in a cross-country journey to reach his wife (Kat Graham) when the earth starts to fall apart.
It brings to mind a slew of films, from 2012 to underseen Aussie pic These Final Hours. Save for a big moment towards the end of the trailer, there’s a certain made-for-TV vibe going on, but it could still be a strong film if it plays the drama right, and having Whitaker on board should help. Netflix movies are a bit of a lucky dip; fingers crossed for this one.
How It Ends, directed by David M. Rosenthal (A Single Shot, Janie Jones) and written by Brooks McLaren, will be arriving on Netflix on June 13.
