Check out the official trailer that’s arrived for upcoming Amazon series Hunters, executive produced by Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out) and led by Al Pacino and Logan Lerman.
We head back to the ’70s in this wild-looking series, following a young man (Lerman) who, following the murder of his holocaust-survivor grandmother, joins a team of vigilantes that hunt down Nazis living in the US. Pacino’s Meyer Offerman leads the group, who are moving ruthlessly to stop the rise of a Fourth Reich. Interestingly, the trailer says the series is “inspired true events.”
It certainly looks dark and bloody, but with a strong dose of humour, plus what appears to be a bit of a discussion on the morals of what this team is doing. Does killing these Nazis make the group just a different shade of evil to the one they’re fighting?
Looks great. Hunters, also starring Kate Mulvany, Dylan Baker, Tiffany Boone, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Louis Ozawa Changchien, and Josh Radno, hits Amazon on February 21.
Official synopsis for Hunters:
Inspired by true events, HUNTERS follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City who discover that hundreds of escaped Nazis are living in America. And so, they do what any bad-ass vigilante squad would do: they set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice. But they soon discover a far-reaching conspiracy and must race against time to thwart the Nazis’ new genocidal plans.
