Take a look at the trailer for I Am the Night, a great-looking TNT limited series starring Chris Pine.
The series finds Pine reuniting with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, who’s on board as executive producer here and also directed at least two of the show’s six episodes. Based on true events, I Am the Night tells the story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley), a girl who was given away at birth by her teen mother to a black restroom attendant in a Nevada casino in 1949. Fauna begins to look into her past, uncovering a sinister trail that involves an infamous Hollywood gynecologist and the “Black Dahlia” murder case.
It’s a tense, promising trailer, showing off a slickly produced mystery with horror tones, and another potential winner for the network following the success of The Alienist. Jenkins got to work on this between finishing Wonder Woman and starting on Wonder Woman 1984, the latter of which will see Pine back as Steve Trevor. We can’t wait, but, alas, we’re going to have to: the limited series kicks off on TNT in January 2019.
