‘I Know This Much Is True’ Trailer: Mark Ruffalo Plays Troubled Twins in HBO Series

HBO

Take a look at the official teaser trailer HBO has released for I Know This Much Is True, an upcoming limited series with Mark Ruffalo taking on two lead roles.

Based on the 1998 novel of the same name by Wally Lamb, the 6-episodes series follows middle-aged man Dominick Birdsey (Ruffalo), who recounts his troubled relationship with his paranoid schizophrenic twin brother, Thomas (also Ruffalo), and his efforts to get him released from an asylum.

Ruffalo appears to be putting in some heavy work in this one, and you can be sure he’ll be one to look out for at the next Emmys. Every episode is directed by Derek Cianfrance, whose credits include fantastic dramas Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines. Looking forward to it.

I Know This Much Is True, also starring Melissa Leo, Archie Panjabi, Rosie O’ Donnell, Juliette Lewis, and Kathryn Hahn, premieres on HBO on April 27.

Based on the 1998 bestselling novel by Wally Lamb, adapted and directed by Derek Cianfrance, this limited series follows the parallel lives of identical twin brothers, played by Mark Ruffalo. A family saga, it tells a story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness set against the backdrop of 20th-century America.
