Idris Elba is another celebrity that’s confirmed to have tested positive with COVID-19.
The Thor: Ragnarok and Prometheus actor took to social media to spread news of his Coronavirus diagnosis, saying that he decided to get tested after coming into contact with a person who had also been infected.
The good news: Elba says he still has not experienced symptoms and is feeling well. He pointed out out that the lack of symptoms is something to keep in mind as people consider isolating themselves over the near future.
“There are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms and that could easily spread it. So now is a real time to be really vigilant about washing your hands and keeping your distance.”
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

The news of Elba’s diagnosis follows Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s announcement last week. The married couple – who were in Queensland, Australia, on production of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic – spent a period under quarantine in a Gold Coast hospita. The pair’s son, Chet Hanks, shared on social media that they are now out of hospital and “feel a lot better” whilst in self-quarantine.
