Tarantino has clearly aimed high with the casting for his latest film. Cameras have started rolling on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which tells of a former TV star (DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt) as they embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves in the film industry during the Charles Manson murders in 1969 Los Angeles.
And as if DiCaprio and Pitt weren’t enough, Tarantino has lined up quite the ensemble, which we’ll reveal in full in a sec. But first, check out the image DiCaprio unveiled on Instagram, showing him in 60s garb alongside Pit. Swoon much?
The film, which is said to be in the vein of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, will be following various characters through intersecting stories. Naturally, Tarantino would take the opportunity to line up an impressive cast list.
Aussie Oscar nominee Margot Robbie is on board as Sharon Tate, and filling out the rest of the cast is (deep breath) Timothy Olyphant, Al Pacino, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond and Scoot McNairy. Again: Take. My. Money.
Tarantino has repeatedly said he intends to only make 10 movies before calling it a day as a feature director, so this could very well be his penultimate film. We’ll see.
Sony has scheduled Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for worldwide release on August 9, 2019
