The first trailer has been released for Ingrid Goes West, an edgy dramedy starring Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen.
Plaza plays the highly troubled Ingrid Thorburn, who, after the death of her mother and a series of self-inflicted setbacks, heads out West to befriend her Instagram obsession (Elizabeth Olsen) .
Unlike the lead character, this picture looks like its on the right side of crazy. Ingrid Goes West received mostly positive reviews from its Sundance premiere, with critics particularly impressed with Plaza’s performance. It certainly looks wild, but there are hints of character-driven depth that make it all the more interesting. We’re in.
Ingrid Goes West, also starring Straight Outta Compton‘s O’Shea Jackson Jr., Wyatt Russell and Billy Magnussen, opens in the US on August 4.
