Frank Grillo isn’t a very nice guy in the upcoming thriller Into the Ashes, which has its first trailer below.
Luke Grimes (Yellowstone) leads the cast of the film, playing Nick, a man whose criminal past comes back to pay him a visit. He thought he’d left that life behind, now with an honest job and a wife. But that old crew, and particularly its leader (Grillo), isn’t willing to let him get away with the money he stole. They take away Nick’s wife, leaving him with nothing to lose…
It’s a familiar type of story, so what you’re hoping for is a strong screenplay, direction and acting to get you invested with what look like the ‘been there, done that’ elements. Grillo’s usually great value, and there’s further promise of solid performances with the likes of Robert Taylor (Longmire) and James Badge Dale (The Departed, 13 Hours, The Pacific) also involved.
Directed and written by Aaron Harvey (The Neighbor, Catch .44). In the US, Into the Ashes hits select theaters, VOD & Digital HD on July 19th.
