New Into the Woods Images: Including Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Prince Charming, and Johnny Depp as Big Bad Wolf

Up until now, the only official image available from Into the Woods was that of Meryl Streep playing The Witch. Well, we’ve got a whole bunch of great images from the upcoming fantasy-musical, which tells the story of a witch who conspires to teach important lessons to various characters of popular children’s stories, including Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel. Based on the stage-musical by Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods could be a major hit when it hits U.S. cinemas in December this year. Director Rob Marshall helmed a Best Picture winner with Chicago, but his second musical, the Daniel Day-Lewis-starring Nine, didn’t really impress. Time will tell whether Disney’s first theatrical adaptation of a Broadway musical play pays off.

Check out the images below, which see the impressive cast playing some memorable characters, including Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Prince Charming, and Johnny Depp as Big Bad Wolf. Okay, the latter is more of a tease – that’s his hand in the picture.

Lucy Punch, Christine Baranski, Tracey Ullman, Lilla Crawford, Daniel Huttlestone, Tammy Blanchard, Billy Magnussen and Mackenzie Mauzy also star.
