Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) takes on the titular role here, playing Danny Rand, a man who returns to NYC fifteen years after being presumed dead in the plane crash that killed his parents. He’s back to reclaim his company, but it won’t be that easy. And when his city comes under threat, some of those skills he’s learned over the years will have to come into play. Good luck to whoever gets near that fist.
Although Netflix keeps its ratings under wraps, one can imagine the numbers that the streaming giant’s Marvel outings have received. Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have met mostly warm receptions, even if some seasons haven’t been as widely loved as others, so there’s obviously a lot riding on the last hero to arrive before we get The Defenders.
The trailer below shows off a familiar type of plot, preferring instead to focus on some of the slick action we can expect – and yes, that fist can certainly do some damage. We’re also given a better look at the season’s villain, Harold Meachum, played by Aussie actor David Wenham; the inclusion of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, who’s appeared in every Marvel-Netflix outing thus far; and Rand’s ally, Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick.
All 13 episodes of Iron Fist season 1 will hit Netflix on March 17.
