You gotta love some of the creative movie mash-up videos you can find on YouTube.
The first official trailer dropped for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s beloved novel It, and boy did it explode. The creepy marketing piece broke the record for the most-watched movie trailer in the first 24 hours of release, taking over the huge numbers that checked out the trailer for Universal’s The Fate of the Furious.
It was only natural that amusing things would be done with such a viral video, and here’s one that’s getting a lot of attention. 18-year-old Sydneysider Dom Harkin took the It trailer and injected, of all things, Mike Myers’ titular furball from the horrendous 2003 film The Cat in the Hat. The mash-up is both hilarious and creepy, although we’re still not sure it’s scarier than that ill-conceived Dr. Seuss adaptation was.
It, directed by Mama helmer Andrés Muschietti, arrives in Australia on September 7 and opens in the US on September 8.
