The next chapter in the 24 series franchise was to be a Bauer-less affair, but it looks like Jack may very well be back.
Fox’s upcoming 24 spin-off, 24: Legacy, is being led by Straight Outta Compton‘s Corey Hawkins and is set to follow a military hero who returns to the U.S. with trouble on his tail.
The original plan was that badass operative turned rogue hero Jack Bauer would not be on board. Well, according to 24: Legacy producer Howard Gordon, Kiefer Sutherland’s Bauer could be turning up after all.
“Our intention is definitely to bring some of the old people into this story,” Gordon told the folks over at Empire, “up to and including Kiefer, once this show gets its legs.”
It makes sense that the powers that be are considering bringing back the character for Legacy, considering Bauer’s popularity and his potential to boost ratings once the series gets underway. Whether that means we’ll be getting Bauer as a quick guest appearance or in a more substantial role is up for speculation, but fans will no doubt be happy to know the man will likely play a part somewhere in this new 12-episode adventure.
24: Legacy, which has its first trailer right HERE, will be hitting screens sometime next year.
