Two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz will be reprising his role as the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the next Daniel Craig-starring James Bond movie.
It appears the production was attempting to keep Waltz’s return to the franchise under wraps, since he had not officially been named among the cast members. There were some expectations that he would be in the film after his turn in Spectre, and it’s now been basically confirmed due to him being spotted at Pinewood Studios, where production is taking place. “You haven’t seen me,” the actor reportedly said to the spotter.

There’s no official word as yet on what Blofeld will be up to, especially since Rami Malek is the primary villain this time around, but The Playlist has shared some potential details:
… Blofeld returns in a kind of “Silence Of The Lambs”-like appearance; Clarice Starling (in this case Lea Seydoux), visiting him in prison and trying to mine him for information about Malek’s sadistic character. […] he’ll likely take a back seat to the focus on Malek.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Blofeld responds. Could he actually help? Perhaps, but it’s also likely that he’ll have another dastardly plan in mind while the mayhem with Malek’s character unfolds.
The still-untitled Bond 25, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation), will also star Jeffrey Wright, Lashana Lynch, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw and Ana de Armas. The film is scheduled to hit Australian and US cinemas on April 8, 2020.
