Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have signed up to star together in a new television series.
Although details are being kept under wraps, Deadline reports that the still-untitled hour-long drama series “explores network morning shows and the larger New York media scene they inhabit.”
The project stems from Media Res, the TV and film production company launched by former HBO head of drama Michael Ellenberg and Bron Studios. Jay Carson, who’s worked as producer and supervising producer on Netflix series House of Cards, will be writing the screenplay.
Aniston and Witherspoon will also be exec producing the series alongside Steve Kloves (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).
This will be the first on-screen team-up for the actresses since 2000, when Witherspoon had a two-episode run in Friends playing Aniston’s sister, Jill Green. It also marks Aniston’s first regular TV acting gig since that sitcom wrapped up in 2004 and is another small-screen project for Witherspoon following’s HBO well-received drama series Big Little Lies.
