In case you hadn’t heard, Jennifer Lopez, hip hop artist Cardi B, Keke Palmer (Scream Queens) and Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians) are starring together in Hustlers, an upcoming film based on the real-life story of former strippers who made a plan to rob Wall Street clientele.
A US release date of September 13 has been handed to the film, which is being released there by STX Entertainment. Lopez took to Instagram to announce the date:
An adaptation of New York magazine article “The Hustlers at Scores” (which you can read in full right HERE), Hustlers will takes place in New York City in the wake of the financial crisis in the late 2000s and follow a group of savvy strippers who decided to steal tens of thousands of dollars from their wealthy Wall Street clients.
The film is being directed and written by Lorene Scafaria, who previously directed and wrote dramedies Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and The Meddler. Lopez is also on board as executive producer here, working alongside Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum via their Gloria Sanchez Productions banner.
The cast also includes Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Julia Stiles (Silver Linings Playbook) and Oscar-winner Mercedes Ruehl (The Fisher King). The film will mark the feature debut for Cardi B, a highly successful hip hop artist who was also once a stripper.
