Jeremy Renner Is Open to a ‘Hawkeye’ Netflix Series, Obviously

A Hawkeye Netflix series? Jeremy Renner is certainly up for it.

While Hawkeye fans haven’t really been given much from the arrow-shooting hero on the big screen, although he was given a little more depth in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a Netflix series could very well be the best place to tell the character’s story. And Renner is more than happy to be on board if the Marvel character heads in that direction.

“I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world,” Renner said to fans and media at Silicon Valley Comic Con.

“These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”

Could the character of Hawkeye suit the streaming giant’s model? Quite possibly. There has been no official word on anything relating to the matter, but, as has been proven before, all it can take is a hint like this for an exec to begin moving forward on a project. For now, Marvel and Netflix are busy with their Defenders line-up, which includes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
